The sun-kissed village of Vieugy was the setting for a truly extraordinary celebration on October 3rd. Sisters from the community gathered to commemorate a remarkable milestone: the Platinum Jubilee of Sr. Francoise, the Diamond Jubilees of Sr. Anne Chantal, Sr. Marie Monique, and Sr. Rachel, the Golden Jubilee of Sr. Madelene, and the Pearl Jubilee of Sr. Marie Paule.
The meticulous planning and organization of Sr. Tessy and her team, Sr. Raymonde Marie and Sr. Anila were instrumental in ensuring the jubilee celebration a resounding success. Their dedication and attention to detail created a memorable and uplifting event that honoured the Jubilarians' remarkable contributions to the community. Sr.Marie Ducrot and Sr.Elisabeth Verdon transformed the chapel into a floral haven. The Indian Sisters' contributions to the vibrant decorations in the hall added a touch of cultural richness. The air was thick with anticipation as the community, jubilarians, relatives, friends, and benefactors gathered to celebrate.
The Eucharistic celebration, presided over by Bishop Yves Le Saux, was the highlight of the day. The presence of four other concelebrating priests, including Fr. Bruno Hebert who was also marking his Silver Jubilee, added to the solemnity of the occasion. As the jubilarians entered the chapel, carrying rose flowers, their journey of service was symbolically represented.
Sr. Tessy's warm welcome set the tone for the event, followed by a heartfelt homily from Bishop Yves. The Bishop expressed his gratitude for the Jubilarians' unwavering commitment to the Church and the Congregation. After the homily the Jubilarians renewed the vows holding a lighted candle presented by Sr. Breda, the Superior General. The "Harathi" performed by Sisters Anila, Anna, and Sujatha during the Doxology added a touch of Indian tradition to the proceedings.
At the conclusion of the Mass, each Jubilarian took their turn to express their heartfelt gratitude. Their words, filled with humility and joy, reflected the profound impact their vocations had had on their lives and the lives of others. As they shared their personal journeys and experiences, the congregation was moved by their unwavering commitment to their faith and their service to the community.
The celebration culminated in a joyous dinner, where delicious food and heartfelt camaraderie filled the air. The Indian Sisters' lively congratulatory song in English further elevated the festive atmosphere.
The jubilee celebration was not merely a commemoration of individual milestones but a testament to the enduring spirit of the community and the profound impact of these dedicated sisters on the lives of many. It was a day filled with gratitude, joy, and a renewed sense of purpose.
As the celebration drew to a close, everyone left the venue with hearts filled with gratitude and a treasure trove of cherished memories.
