FANCY DRILL DISPLAY ON 21st DECEMBER 2023
St Joseph’s High School English Medium, Jokalandi celebrated the Fancy Drill Display- 2023 on 21st December 2023 amidst great mirth, verve and camaraderie. The event took place in the spacious playground of the school. A large temporary sitting arena was constructed for the parents and students to sit and enjoy the day.
Students of various classes participated in the sports day. Shri Satya Jitu Satapathy, Ex. Ranji Cricketer and Entrepreneur graced the event as the Chief Guest. The guests of honour were Sr.Leena Jacob SJA, President, the Education Society of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Annecy, Mrs.Sanhita Das, International Kabaddi Coach, Fr. Richard Vaz SVD, the Manager of St.Arnold School, and Sr.Pauline SJA, the Manager of St.Joseph’s High School English Medium, Jokalandi, Bharatpur.
Present on the occasion were priests, religious, special invitees and a large gathering of parents. Mrs.Snigdha Rani Acharya received the guests by offering a bouquet, Mr.Jyotiranjan Digal felicitated the guests with a stole and Mr.Sambit Sudarsan Jena presented Mementos to the guests.
The programme began with the hoisting of School Flag and the chief guest declared the Fancy Drill Display - 2023 Open. It was complemented by releasing of balloons by the honourable Guests marking the expression of joy and merriment. A spectacular and well- synchronized March Past by the four House students was performed endearing the spectators, speechless and awestruck.
The four houses of the school cheered for their respective members. This was followed by an Inter-House Mass drill, a highly competitive event where the four houses eyed for the first place. The audience then witnessed various displays symbolizing alternative sources of energy. The displays made way for the highly awaited athletic events where competence of our students soared through the roof. It involved mass student participation which splattered on the field, a riot of hues and vibrance.
The various drills performed were: Bat and Ball Drill of Nursery choreographed by Mrs.Nandini Sahoo, Pom Pom drills by Tots of Prep choreographed by Mrs.Renu Rana Singh, Ribbon Dance styled by Mrs.Kadambari Nayak, Fan drill directed by Mrs.Kamal Rana, Hula hoop Drill choreographed by Mrs.Sanghamitra Dash, Basketball drill styled by Ms.Mamata Mohanty, Bamboo Drill directed by Mrs.Priti Curtis, Umbrella Drill styled by Mrs.Anjali Pattanaik, Yoga asanas drill choreographed by Mrs.Nilu Sharma, Hockey Drill directed by Mrs.Urvashi and Mrs.Reshma, Christmas Carol choreographed by Sr.Keerthana and Karate performances under the supervision of Mr.Santosh Mahapatra.
The Chief Guest Shri Satya Jitu Satapathy in his address contended that progress of any state is reflection of the level and quality of its education. He said that St. Joseph school is a place where students are excelling in all fields like sports & cultural aspects apart from academics. He opined that sports is equally important at par with academics and congratulated the principal & teachers who are constantly working towards its development.
To add a feather on the cap, the school website was launched by the Chief Guest Shri Satya Jitu Satapathy, marking another milestone in the achievements of the school. The Web Editorial board members of the newly launched website www.stjosephjokalandibbsr.org were Sr.Archana, Mr.Jyotiranjan Digal and Mrs.Reshma Tripathy.
The winners of various events were given medals, trophies and certificates. There was a special felicitation and award ceremony for the students who emerged with flying colours in the recent 10th ICSE board exam. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Niroja Pradhan, Muskan Kumari and Muzaffar Allam for their hard work and success. At the end of the event, students departed with a clear smile on their faces as the Sapphire House emerged as House Champions. It was a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish. The Principal of this esteemed institute, Sr.Archana, addressed and thanked all the teachers for their cooperation and support and advised children to keep up their sportsman spirit.
Sr. Leena Jacob SJA, appreciated that the school has already taken a lead in grooming students in extracurricular and co-curricular activities. FR. Richard Vaz,SVD also commented that St. Joseph’s High School excels in all fields of learning and congratulated the school for carving a niche for itself. The zealous parents, gathered in large numbers, constantly applauded the participants of the Field exhibiting their Fancy Drill displays. In the Closing Ceremony, the Meet was declared closed and the School Flag was handed over to the principal. The Sports-Meet saw its culmination with the National Anthem.
