Sisters of Saint Joseph of Annecy

Diamond jubilee

10th October 2015 dawned announcing the glad tidings of the Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Sr. Lawrence, Sr. Domitilla, Sr. Amedee, Sr. Albertine, Sr. Sabina and Sr. Marie Lourdes. The esteemed presence of Sr. Pauline and her Council along with the Delegates to the Extended General Council added beauty, color and joy to the celebration. Fr. Chinnappa Reddy, Provincial MSFS celebrated the Holy Eucharist along with 25 Priests.

                                                                                                        Coming together is a Celebration

Sr. Lawrence: She was a caring foster mother, who took care of the boarders, tending them like a loving shepherd ever ready to help in need. She was a nurse too, attending to the sick with her tender, love and care.

Sr. Domitilla: The ever loving “Florence Nightingale”. Sister was such a loving Boarding Mistress to the boarders. It is her ever smiling pleasant face that makes everyone feel at home in her company.

Sr. Amedee: She is a very zealous missionary who believes in the will of God more than her own. She found her fulfilment when she said her “Fiat” to go to Africa. Being an efficient nurse, she knew instinctively when people needed her attention, her healing touch and tender care.

Sr. Albertine: She played many roles in the Congregation. She was an excellent English lecturer who inspired many students in St. Joseph’s College for Women, Visakhapatnam. As the Vice Principal of the College, she was meticulous in ensuring discipline and orderliness. As the Provincial Secretary she was a diligent administrator. She accepted the challenge to work in a new terrain in Africa. As a Junior Mistress, Sister took utmost care to give a holistic Formation to the Formees.

Sr. Sabina: She was an exemplary teacher who still has hundreds of “fans” in many places. She won the best Teacher’s award and with her patience and simplicity she touched many students’ lives wherever she worked. As an administrator and Headmistress she ensured a sense of justice and firmness, treating everyone with kindness.

Sr.Mary Lourdes: She was a religious with a difference. She believed that unless a religious is a missionary, working for the kingdom of God, her purpose in vocation has no meaning.   Therefore she opted to work untiringly in Africa for several years. Her efficiency was acknowledged even by the Government. She is endowed with a kind heart and a healing hand.

To each of our special Jubilarians we say, “You are the most awesome gift to our Religious Family. Your contribution to the Congregation has been immeasurable. You have always found time to open your hearts, minds, arms, eyes, ears and your whole lives to God and to others.”

Congratulations and Thank You Dear Diamonds.
